Has merging servers been discussed yet?

I know that during a Q & A session, it was mentioned they had updated the "tech" that would allow them to do it more. But have they said anything since say blizzcon about this?

I want to be on a more populated server but if they are going to merge more low pop realms to make high pop realms I can wait and not spend the gold/money moving characters.
